Fr. Ernesto Caicedo, MSC
Born in Sapuyes Nariño, Colombia, South America, on May 4, 1981. Attended the Sapuyes Nariño grammar school and graduated at the Sebastian Belalcazar Nationalized High School.

In 2004, entered the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart.

Received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy at the Minuto de Dios University in Bogota in 2008. From August 2008 to the following year did his novitiate in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
Took his first religious vows on Aug. 8, 2009, and studied theology at the Javeriana Pontificial University of Bogota from 2009 to 2013.

Made his perpetual vows in the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart on Aug. 4, 2012, was ordained a deacon in the Fontibon Cathedral on Dec. 1, 2012. On July 13, 2013 was ordained to the priesthood.

Served at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Parish in Bogota, first as a deacon and continuing after his ordination as a priest.

In January 2014, was transferred to work as pastor at Jesucristo Obrero Parish in Bogota. During those years also worked as chaplain for the Maria Auxiliadora School and the San Jose Superior Education Foundation.

Came to the United States in January 2017 and studied English in Chicago and Aurora and has been assisting with ministry at various parishes.

priest of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart currently servers as pastor of St. Therese of Jesus Parish in Aurora, IL since Feb. 1 2018.

Bruce Watermann
Deacon and Director of Religious Education

Deacon Bruce was ordained a Permanent Deacon of the Rockford Diocese on May 1st, 1999. He is the first Permanent Deacon assigned to Saint Therese Parish.

His ministries include: Director of Religious Education at Saint Therese; Director of the Altar Servers; Liturgical Coordinator for Holy Week and other special liturgies; certified Spiritual Director serving in the Diocese of Rockford,  leader for the RCIA program at Saint Therese, and assisting with RCIA at Sacred Heart and Saint Nicholas parishes.

Deacon also serves as a member of the Aurora Area Catholic Community program. Deacon Bruce also serves in pastoral ministry at Sacred Heart and Saint Nicholas parishes in Aurora. Since 1994 he has been involved in Prison ministry to both men and women.

Deacon serves as Chaplain for the Aurora Township Fire Department as well as the Catholic Order of Foresters, Court 1544.

Deacon is an avid Green Bay Packer football fan as well as a fan of Brewers baseball and Bucks basketball. He is a collector of "Old Time Radio Shows" with over 20,000 programs in collection.

Julio Rosado

Deacon Julio serves his Deaconate in St Therese since 2000. Before moving to the Aurora and the Diocese of Rockford, he served as a Deacon in the Archdiocese of Chicago for ten years. In 1990 he was ordained as Deacon for the Archdiocese of Chicago. Born in Puerto Rico, moved to the US in 1968. Married in 1972 and father of two daughters and a beautiful grandson.

Jody Watermann
Coordinator of Religious Eduacation

Jody Watermann, Coordinator for Religious Education (CRE), is a life-long member of St. Therese.  Her father and grandparents were among the founding families in 1925.  Jody has a BA in Accounting from Aurora University, is a certified Lay Minister for the Rockford Diocese and journeyed with her husband, Bruce, during his diaconate formation.  In addition to coordinating the RE program, Jody teaches the 2nd year Confirmation class.  She is a member of the Rockford Diocese United in Faith Committee and serves as the chair of the Neediest Parishes and Schools Sub-Committee.  She served as a lay representative of the Rockford Diocese to the Catholic Conference of Illinois from 2000 – 2010 and continues to serve as a part of their Communications Committee.  Jody serves on the National Council of Catholic Women’s Leadership Training Development team as a trainer and coauthor of the program.  In the community, Jody serves as a trustee and treasurer for the Aurora Township Fire Protection District.  In her free time, she enjoys gardening, canning, reading and sewing.
