Msgr. James Moroney, nationally known expert and speaker on liturgical matters, will be the next speaker in Bishop Malloy’s Year of Faith Lecture Series, hosted by St. Mary Parish.

Msgr. Moroney will provide a lively look at the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy in his topic, Sacrosanctum Concilium – the Unfinished Agenda. Sacrosanctum Concilium is one of the Constitutions of the Second Vatican Council focused on achieving greater participation in the liturgy of the church by the laity. Msgr. Moroney’s talk will examine how that document affects us today.

Msgr. Moroney has been a priest of the Diocese of Worcester, Mass., since 1980, and is currently Rector of St. John Seminary in Brighton, Mass. He has been a professor of Sacred Liturgy and served on the Vox Clara Committee, an international committee advising the Vatican on the English Translation of the Liturgy. He is an author and host of “The New and Eternal Word” program on the CatholicTV Network.

The public is invited.
